Every 6 years?
The first time I went to Australia was in 2004, the second time in 2010 and the last time in 2016. Going to Australia every six years seemed like a good idea to me, so I planned the next trip for 2022.
I'll probably start over in Darwin and head down to Perth in a 4WD. Last time I saw a lot, but I also didn't see much, and I want to really appreciate it this time. Lichfield Park is on the list, but also Lake Argyle, Mitchell Falls, Francois Peron National Park, Mount Augustus, and Marble Bar. I've also taken a family
I've been traveling around Australia for five years and have found several places that seem more than worth visiting, such as Arnhem Land, Limmen National Park, and Dirk Hartog Island. If there's enough time, I'd also like to visit the southwest corner this time. I'd love to see places like Busselton, Margaret River, and Walpole, and of course, the lighthouse at Cape Leeuwin. I don't know exactly what that part of the trip will look like yet; as mentioned, it also depends somewhat on the time available. Finally, I'll probably end up back in Palm Cove for a rest.
Below is a map of Australia with my general itinerary. I've allocated just over 11 weeks for the first leg, with about 10 days for resting in Palm Cove.
